Murmi
A real-time, audio-based tool for iterative collective sensemaking that helps groups turn live conversations into shared, reviewable decisions.
I developed and launched Murmi, a real-time, audio-based tool for group decision-making. Murmi listens to a live conversation and uses AI to organize what people say into a shared interpretation of the group’s priorities, agreements, tensions, and less-heard perspectives.
That interpretation is not treated as the final answer. Participants can inspect it, question it, correct it, and add what is missing. The revised understanding then becomes the starting point for the next round of conversation. This iterative loop keeps people in control of the outcome while using real-time AI sensemaking to help the group listen to itself and move towards a decision.
Taiwan: vTaiwan
Murmi was piloted with vTaiwan on July 17, 2026, with around 100 people participating at the same time. Their contributions were brought together into a shared picture that participants could review and refine. The resulting report was used to support policy adjustments, turning the conversation into something that could be carried into the next stage of the process.
Switzerland: Swiss AI Futures
Murmi was later tested through Swiss AI Futures in citizen workshops in Zurich and Lausanne on August 11–12, 2026. More than 100 participants used the app while discussing how AI is affecting work and education in Switzerland. They could see their contributions being recorded, structured, and reflected back as an outcome the group could review together.
